We are currently recruiting for a Library Clerk with a fantastic company dedicated to serving the Central Coast.

The Library Clerk position is a part-time on-call position located in Santa Maria, CA.
The workdays would be between Monday through Friday with timeframes being from 8am to 12pm or 1pm to 5pm with a pay rate of $16 to $18 an hour (depending on experience).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide information and assistance to library patrons, including reference service, in person or by phone.
Instruct/assist library patrons in the use of computer, print, photocopy, fax and only services; charge for services in accordance with library policies
Coordinate technical services and troubleshoot technical issues including but not limited to Wi-Fi, photocopier machines, printers, scanners, and fax machine.
Prepare correspondence, organize and maintain files using Word and Excel; prepare reports upon request.
File updates for slip opinions, advance sheets, pocket parts, and loose-leaf publications.
Develop reference guides, tools and pathfinders and maintain currency.
Inventory and maintain library supplies.
Recommend to the Library Director proposals for modifying, improving and expanding services and materials.
Establish and maintain good relationships with library patrons, court staff, government agencies and departments, the bar, the bench, and other libraries.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Any combination of the following: Associates of Arts degree, paralegal certificate, public library or government service work experience, business experience, one year of experience in a public services position.
Knowledge of basic legal terminology and legal literacy.
Knowledge of theory and practice of public service and library service
Great problem-solving skills
Knowledge of structure and functions of state and federal courts
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, as well as working with legal databases, internet searching and library catalog searching.
Knowledge of search tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, CEB OnLAW, and Google Scholar
Knowledge of Library World cataloguing software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a group, including being part of a team.
Great organizational and time management skills
Ability to deliver excellent customer service under pressure
Ability to lift 20 to 40 pounds
Must be flexible about work schedule
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
