GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the HR Generalist will provide professional human resources support for the association.
This position will be responsible for performing analytical and administrative work for daily human resources activities, disseminating pertinent information related to HR activities; serving as a subject matter expert for HR related questions, and assuring training and compliance requirements are met for staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Overseeing the recruitment process; assisting supervisors with job requisitions, applications, background checks and the overall hiring process.
2.
Overseeing the new hire, onboarding process; monitoring completion of documentation and communicating with supervisors and staff to ensure completion of paperwork in a timely manner.
3.
Administering benefits for the association to include; annual open enrollment, meeting with new staff to review benefits, answering questions, and managing the enrollment/termination of benefits with insurance carriers and the HRIS.
4.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns and recommend appropriate actions.
5.
Reviewing, researching, processing all HR actions for association to include, but not limited to; promotions, pay changes, terminations, hires, and other actions submitted through the HRIS system.
6.
Incorporating off site visits to YMCA program locations to observe and empower staff with real time training for improved HR communications and behaviors
7.
Ensuring all HR related actions involving payroll changes are communicated to the Payroll department and monitored each pay period for accuracy.
8.
Filing annual and monthly Federal and State reports.
9.
Overseeing all aspects of HRIS system including filing of W2’s, Form 941, Form DE9 & DE9C and Forms 1094 & 1095
10.
Conducting background checks for applicants, employees, and volunteers.
11.
Maintaining personnel files and records.
12.
Stay up-to-date with changes in employment labor laws and regulations.
13.
Supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.
Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
3.
Prior experience in human resources management and staff development.
4.
Knowledge and professional experience in planning, talent management, selection, compensation, benefits, training, staff development, employee relations, and performance management.
5.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
6.
Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
7.
Clean driving record and license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1.
Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and supervise facilities and membership program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
2.
Ability to perform essential movements such as reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, carrying, lifting 40 pounds, and twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs.
