*Hours: * *9am-6pm Tuesday- Saturday* *7am-3pm Monday-Friday* Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Transporter plays a crucial role in the recuperative care program within a homeless shelter by providing safe and efficient transportation services for clients.
The primary focus is on ensuring that clients have access to medical appointments, external activities, and other essential destinations as needed.
This position requires a responsible and compassionate approach, as it involves working closely with vulnerable individuals in need of medical support.
Safely transport clients in the agency-provided vehicle to medical appointments, follow-up visits, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations, ensuring they arrive on time and return to the shelter promptly.
Coordinate transportation schedules efficiently, taking into account clients' medical needs and appointment times.
Offer empathy and emotional support to clients dealing with acute health issues.
Be attentive to their mental well-being.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation logs.
Ensure that the facility has clean and comfortable beds ready for incoming clients.
Actively engages in collaborative efforts with fellow staff members to ensure that clients receive the necessary support they require.
Conduct regular wellness checks and monitor vital signs to ensure the clients' medical conditions remain stable throughout their stay.
Monitor medication administration to clients as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to medication schedules, and monitor any side effects or reactions.
Ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, including high surface areas.
Maintain high ethical standards in all aspects of the role.
Adhere to professional codes of conduct, respect client confidentiality, and prioritize the well-being and rights of clients at all times.
Be prepared to respond to crisis situations promptly and effectively, providing immediate assistance and access to appropriate resources when needed.
Responsible for promptly notifying the manager of any work orders that need to be submitted or supplies that need to be ordered.
Responsible for attending staff meetings, ensuring timely completion of training, and accurately completing timecards.
Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
