Hello, my name is Philip, and I am a local resident offering lawn and garden service here in the city of Lompoc and surrounding areas.
To begin, I am not your average gardener.
If you cannot tell from the photo above, I transport all of my tools by way of my bicycle and bike trailer(I also have a classic vw that I use for work during the busy season if need be and distant jobs).
It works great.
I use a gasoline lawn mower and string trimmer for routine mowing/maintenance.
I have a variety of different sized stihl/commercial grade string trimmers/engines for different sized jobs.
I use a powerful 2 hp 4 stroke string trimmer/brush cutter and/or an Austrian Scythe(the grim reaper tool) for very overgrown grass and weed jobs.
I use high quality biodegradable engine oil so my engines do not emit a stinky oil/environmentally unfriendly smell(big difference!).
I use a hedge trimmer(one extended pole for trees, one short for shrubs), a leaf blower, an edger, an extended pole chainsaw, a handheld chainsaw(16-18inch
bar), and a cultivator/rototiller.
I have a quality manual tree pruner and saw that can prune up to 20+ feet high.
I have an assortment of hand pruners, shears, and saws for all types of more precise pruning jobs.
I have a variety of modern hoes, hand held tools, and rakes for weed and leaf removal.
Speaking of weed removal, I can and often do pull weeds by hand.
The rule of thumb for the extent to which I pull weeds is threefold.
The soil has to be workable, the weed has to be large enough, and I must be able to use a tool to aid in removal.
I can do most jobs quite efficiently; I have nearly 4 years of experience doing this full time, and I am a hard worker.
I consider my overhead comparably low; as a result, I can do the job for a very affordable price.
I work by the hour, and I am currently charging $22 per hour for the majority of jobs.
The exceptions would be if I am using my chainsaw or my larger 2hp string trimmer for extended periods.
In that case the rate is liable to increase based on a variety of factors.
All of my price calculation occurs at the end of the job, to account for all potential variables.
All of this is done in order to deliver you the fairest price for the job.
Generally, I have a one hour minimum service charge.

We have a very tall weed cut and removal/cleanup, some tree pruning, a neglected front yard overhaul, a raised bed I built for a customer complete, and a beautiful yard I prune/hedge trim(tree included),weed, and edge, and an acre of 5 + foot tall mustard weeds that I cut down with my brush cutter.
