Hello, my name is Philip, and I am a local resident offering lawn and garden service here in the city of Lompoc and surrounding areas.
To begin, I am not your average gardener.
I transport all of my tools by way of a bicycle and bike trailer(I also have a small pleasure vehicle for distant jobs if I need it).
It works great.
I own and use high quality gasoline power equipment(lawn mowers, string trimmers, leaf blower, hedge trimmers, chainsaws).
And, I use high quality biodegradable engine oil so my engines do not emit a stinky smokey fume(big difference!).
I use a lawn mower with bagging and side discharge capability.
I use a small professional string trimmer.
I have a very powerful 2 hp string trimmer/brush cutter and/or an Austrian Scythe(the grim reaper tool) for very tall grass and thick weed jobs.
I use a hedge trimmer(one extended pole and articulating function for trees/tall shrubs, and one short for shrubs), a leaf blower, a metal blade edger, an extended pole chainsaw, a handheld chainsaw(16 inch bar), and a cultivator/rototiller.
I have a quality manual tree pruner and saw that can prune up to 20+ feet high.
I have an assortment of hand pruners, shears, and saws for all types of more precise pruning jobs.
I have a variety of modern hoes, hand held tools, and rakes for weed and leaf removal.
Speaking of weed removal, I can and often do pull weeds by hand.
My rule of thumb for weed pulling is, the soil has to be workable, the weed has to be large enough, and I must be able to use a tool to aid in removal.
If these three are not met, I cannot guarantee I will attempt pulling the weeds.
I can do most jobs quite efficiently; I have nearly 4 years of experience doing this full time, and I am a hard worker.
I consider my overhead comparably low; as a result, I can do the job for a very affordable price.
I work by the hour, and my base rate charge is $22 per hour for the majority of jobs.
The exceptions would be if I am using my chainsaw for extended periods, doing tree work for extended periods, or using my larger 2hp string trimmer for extended periods.
In these cases the rate is liable to increase based on a variety of factors.
All of my price calculation occurs at the end of the job, to account for all potential variables.
All of this is done in order to deliver you the fairest price for the job.
Generally, I have a one hour minimum service charge.

We have a very tall weed cut and removal/cleanup, some tree pruning, a neglected front yard overhaul, a raised bed I built for a customer complete, and a beautiful yard I prune/hedge trim(tree included),weed, and edge, and an acre of 5 + foot tall mustard weeds that I cut down with my brush cutter.
